Welcome to Present Ascent, the home of my funeral celebrancy work. I’m Lucy and I’m an independent funeral celebrant. I work with individuals and families to plan and lead a funeral ceremony. I live in Macclesfield and work throughout Cheshire, South Manchester and the Peak District.

I believe that a funeral can be full of love — a special time to share stories and to remember someone in a way that is personal, meaningful and (where suited) creative. It is also a space to mark their beauty and uniqueness, no matter how short or long their life.

As a part of my role, I will listen to you — gently and openly — as we begin to explore what you are hoping for in a funeral ceremony. We will navigate the planning process together and, if needed, I can introduce you to ideas and options along the way. This will lead us to the creation of a funeral ceremony that is as right as possible for both the person who has died, or who is dying, along with those who will attend.

The areas that I cover include Macclesfield, Bollington, Adlington, Poynton, Congleton, Sandbach, Crewe, Buxton, the High Peak, Stockport, Cheadle, Didsbury, Sale, Altrincham, Bowdon, Hale, Knutsford, Northwich, Winsford, Holmes Chapel & Middlewich. In addition, I am more than happy to travel further afield than these areas - feel free to contact me to discuss.

Your calm and serene demeanour helped us all to hold it together, cry when we needed to, but also enjoy it for what it was; a celebration of a life well lived...

Jane Crowther Funeral at Birches, June 2022

Funeral ceremony truly matters because it holds the delicate heart of grief within it. It can bring light and love to a challenging time and provide a path through to a future which might otherwise be hard to see.
